What are your opinions on the following things about the Philippines?

     Places

With such beautiful and diverse landscapes, Philippines is an under-traveled destination in my opinion. The rice terraces in the north are breathtaking, the islands are idyllic with so many to explore, and there are volcanoes and mountains throughout the country.

     Food

With some great dishes like chicken adobo, the majority seemed to have a high pork and fat content. A great selection of tropical and seasonal fruit which was always fresh, and a great selections of drinks available. Cheap alcohol (cheaper than water sometimes!) was a surprise.

     Culture

A unique culture of SE Asian characteristics blended with American influences. A sense of tradition and pride was always evident.

     People

Friendly, outgoing and open, the people are genuine and honest. Nothing is covered up and the people passionately speak their mind. I also noticed a strong sense of family and community. The happiness in the people was infectious – evident in kids and adults alike, who are always content with life. A great characteristic to see in people.

What do you dislike about the Philippines?

The high pork content in the food. The bad traffic in Manilla caused by slow Jeepney drivers!

What do you like about the Philippines?

The people, the landscapes.
