Nationality: American.

Occupation/Location: Retired Construction Contractor from USA. Now operate, with my wife The Jungle Restaurant and Entertainment Center, Bagumbayan, Maribago, Lapu Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines.

How did you find about the Philippines?

All starting with looking for a wife on the internet. Pretty much found out about PI, through searching for wife overseas. Come across a website in which had lot of Filipinas. So that was the original reason. After visiting a few times, and really falling in love with the country, people, and sites, decided to retire early and live here.

What Philippine locations have you visited?

Manila, Davao, Cayagen de Oro, Ozamis, Cebu, Bohol, Batayan, Boracay, Malapascua, Mactan Island. Many more small areas in and around Cebu. (sorry if I misspell some of those).

What are your opinions on the following things about the Philippines?

     Places

The Philippines offers some of the most beautiful, tropical and scenic places in all of Asia. The vast array of diversity and beaches leaves so much to see and experience. I find most all places in the Philippines interesting in one way or the other. I would say that some places need more interest in infrastructure and in service. But all in all each place you can find something interesting.

     Food

Although, as a foreigner, most of the foods here are very different than what we are used to. Personally, I do love many of the Filipino foods here. But also they are some, in which I really could never try or even attempt to consume. Again, the vast variety of foods here, give opportunity to every culture to find something that they can enjoy.

     Culture

Again, being a foreigner, our cultures do not agree on many issues. At the same time, I find it very interesting to learn and understand the culture in PI. I have dedicated my life here to learn and understand the history, culture, meanings. Of course you can tell from my choice of business that I support and understand the culture. I pride myself on knowing more about the Filipino cultural dances, their meanings, the history.

     People

The people of the Philippines are the most friendly and accepting I have ever met. Although I have met some bad people here, the good people out number the bad ones very much.

What do you dislike about the Philippines?

I will have to admit, that they are many things that I dislike here. But even with the dislike, I still find enough good reasons to stay and make my life here. Of course the corruption , brownouts, bad service, and of course being white Seems like I am always a target for others to try to take advantage of, or seem my feelings do not matter. Would love to see more accountability for everyone, and stronger leadership. Would also like to see foreigners who come here to have a life, and invest here in PI, to have more rights.

What do you like about the Philippines?

They are so many things to like. Beautiful Women, beaches, warm weather, affordable place to live, friendly.

Your favorite place/s in the Philippines.
